Denish amasses $2.5 million

Lt. Gov. Diane Denish raised $750,000 during the last quarter of 2009, her campaign said today.

Denish, at this point the only Democratic candidate for governor this year, has $2.5 million on hand, more than any Republican challenger. She has raised $3.5 million to date, from 5,500 supporters, her campaign said. She has raised $75,000 online.

Even thought it's not required, the campaign says it will post the most recent report online later today here.

Already, GOP Rep. Janice Arnold-Jones has reported her contributions, ahead of the deadline.

Any other candidates willing to do this?

  1. Wouldn't it be nice if the Demos had a choice in the race for Governor, and the Lt. Governor didn't buy it outright? This is a clear demonstration of what's wrong with New Mexico politics today!

  2. We are going to find tht this election isn't about the amount of the money being raised - having TO much might even be a campaign issue ... but I appreciate the nom-de-plume of the first commenter - Monahan remains an egotistical gossip columnist!
